FACTS on dreams

Within 5 minutes of waking half of your dream is forgotten. Within 10, 90%
is gone.

People who became blind after birth can see images in their dreams. People
who are born blind do not see any images, but have dreams equally vivid
involving their other senses of sound, smell, touch and emotion

Every human being dreams (except in cases of extreme psychological
disorder). If you think you are not dreaming you just forget your dreams.

Our mind is not inventing faces in our dreams we see real faces of real
people that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember. We
have all seen hundreds of thousands of faces throughout our lives, so we
have an endless supply of characters for our brain to utilize during our
dreams.

A full 12% of sighted people dream exclusively in black and white. The
remaining number dream in full color. Studies from 1915 through to the
1950s maintained that the majority of dreams were in black and white, but
these results began to change in the 1960s. Today only 4.4% of the dreams
of under-25 year-olds are in black and white. Recent research has
suggested that those changing results may be linked to the switch from
black-and-white film and TV to color media.

If you dream about some particular subject it is not often that the dream
is about that. Dreams speak in a deeply symbolic language. Whatever symbol
your dream picks on it is most unlikely to be a symbol for itself.

The most common emotion experienced in dreams is anxiety. Negative
emotions are more common than positive ones.

On average you can dream anywhere from one or two hours every night.

Studies have been done on many different animals, and they all show the
same brain waves during dreaming sleep as humans. Watch a dog sleeping
sometime. The paws move like they are running and they make yipping sounds
as if they are chasing something in a dream.

Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep is a normal stage of sleep characterized by
rapid movements of the eyes. REM sleep in adult humans typically occupies
20-25% of total sleep, about 90-120 minutes of a night's sleep.
During REM sleep the body is paralyzed by a mechanism in the brain in
order to prevent the movements which occur in the dream from causing the
physical body to move. However, it is possible for this mechanism to be
triggered before, during, or after normal sleep while the brain awakens.

Our mind interprets the external stimuli that our senses are bombarded
with when we are asleep and make them a part of our dreams. This means
that sometimes in our dreams we hear a sound from reality and incorporate
it in a way. For example you may be dreaming that you are in a concert
while your brother is playing a guitar during your sleep.

Men tend to dream more about other men. Around 70% of the characters in a
man's dream are other men. On the other hand, a woman's dream
contains almost an equal number of men and women. Aside from that, men
generally have more aggressive emotions in their dreams than the female
lot.

Results of several surveys across large population sets indicate that
between 18% and 38% of people have experienced at least one precognitive
dream and 70% have experienced dvu.The percentage of persons that believe
precognitive dreaming is possible is even higher ranging from 63% to 98%.
*Precognition, also called future sight, refers to perception that
involves the acquisition of future information that cannot be deduced from
presently available and normally acquired sense-based information.

Singing Bowls

Singing bowls are very enjoyable to play. The experience is both invigorating and relaxing. Take time out to play a singing bowl every day, either as part of meditation or just to enjoy a few minutes of peace. Sound is very beneficial to our our health and well being. The warm tone, gentle vibration and subtle harmonic overtones provide many subtle benefits. Give yourself this little gift every day. It is also a wonderful opportunity to share with others. You can play them in group mediation, with music, in the classroom or yoga studio. There are many uses for sound. Even if you don't have a reason, it's always a nice treat. For Buddhists, singing bowls offer a way to renew the Bodhisattva vow every day or can be used as part of your daily offerings. Think of the sound as an offering for the benefit of all living things.

Large singing bowls (9 inches or larger) can be heavy to hold, so leave it sitting on the floor or on a table. If placing a bowl on a hard surface, use a cushion to prevent friction. Large bowls have a wonderful grounding quality. The deep and slow vibrations are very calming and instantly relaxing. You can also hold a large bowl flat on your hands at a level in front of you where it feels easiest for you - around the level of your heart, solar plexus, in front of your belly or resting in your lap. Experiment holding it at different levels and notice how the vibration feels. A person can lay on the floor with bowls surrounding them for a sound healing session.
The traditional way to use singing bowls in meditation is to play a large bowl to begin meditation (as a calming influence) and a small bowl to end meditation (as a signal and wake up call).

Medium singing bowls (6-8 inches) offer the best balance of small size and full vibration. They are the ideal choice for an all around personal bowl. Hold a medium bowl on your fingertips, or flat on your palm. Be sure not to touch the sides of the bowl, which will dampen the sound.
Try lying down and putting the bowl on your torso. Couples love playing the bowls for each other. For professionals, large bowls are best on the floor around the client but medium and small bowls can go directly on the body.

Small bowls (under 6 inches) are the ultimate for portability and produce the highest pitches. Small bowls are lightweight, so be careful it doesn't fly out of your hand when you play it. Hold a very small bowl on your fingertips with the fingers spread slightly for easier balance. When singing a very small bowl, it helps to press the bowl against the mallet as you press the mallet against the bowl - as you go around the rim both hands can move.

How to Energize Water with Crystals

How to Energize Water with Crystals

Positive ions in air molecules are a type of electric charge that is harmful to your health. Places that are heavily polluted or that have been closed for a long time without air are heavy with these positive ions. On the other hand, the negative ion is beneficial for your health.

Using crystals to structure water will charge it with negative ions, which makes the water healthier as well as the body that ingests it. Understanding the different stones and how they can affect water is the first step in charging water or making elixirs.

Clear Quartz Crystal Points are perfect for this purpose. You can always find just the right size and shape to charge your water with amazing energy. Choosing Quartz points would eliminate any concerns you may have about the clusters such as other mineral inclusions that may contain toxins. Quartz can also be programmed with your intention for an added energy vibration.

Lithium is found in every cell of the human body and greatly contributes to the balance and well being of the body/mind. It enhances the immune system, and vitalizes Prana (life force). Lithium has this amazing calming energy, which soothes and balances the body. If you have trouble sleeping, drink some Lithium in Quartz infused water before bedtime.

Charging water is really a simple process. Using a glass container, fill with distilled, filtered or pure water. Sun Tea Jars or Glass pitchers work great. Some tap water may have minerals and chemicals that react with the crystals, so it is best to filter it first. Simply use what you have available.

Wash the crystal(s) to be used in this process in tepid water and allow them to dry. Water that is too cold or too hot may damage the crystal. I suggest using either single quartz (Clear, Amethyst, Citrine, etc) crystals or tumbles as opposed to raw for ease of use and safety. Many pieces in raw form may break down, causing ingestion concerns.

Add the clear Quartz crystal you have selected to your glass container of water and allow the water to sit for 8-12 hours. You can additionally infuse the water by sitting it in the sun and/or the moon for 8-12 hours. If you do choose to infuse with sunlight and/or moonlight outside, make sure the top of the container is covered to keep dust, bugs and such out of your water. Parchment paper, a glass top or clear wrap will do the trick.
